Something is definitely wrong with my back. Fuck the doctors who haven't been able to figure out what. Last night (at work) I reached the point where I could barely lift my right arm above my shoulder, and trying to lift anything (even a frigging TV dinner) was agony - pain would radiate from my shoulder blade down and across my back and around to the front. The whole night it was like a continuing cycle of micro-spasms - hot, sharp pains hitting like hail on my back. Toward the end of the night, even the manager was asking if I was alright. Which I wasn't. I haven't spent that much time close to tears since I was in labor. Got home and laid down immediately - 8 hours later and I still can't straighten up.

Luckily, I have tonight off so hopefully, if I don't do anything more strenuous than loading the dishwasher - which I *have* to do :p - I'll be fit for work Friday. Which will most likely start it up all over again.

On a lighter note, Petey is doing much better with the anti-inflammatories - even his good days are better than they were before, so I think we'll be able to stick with them instead of going to steroid treatment.

So okay...

One step closer to retirement - age-wise, anyway. No longer able to say "I'm almost 56." Hit it dead on today.

Yawn.

My brother went down and got a cake - I shall, no doubt, have it completely devoured before the weekend. And feel suitably guilty and nauseous for having done so.

In other news, have a ton of stuff to get done today (my One Day Off). Have another chapter from JFM's last fanfic to beta - sorry it's taken so long :(  And one for Billy, as well - taken even longer. I am so remiss in these things lately. No excuses. Just haven't had my mind on writing. Too damn cold for that.

Saw an old friend of mine the other night at work - the jack of all trades who buys any mechanical junk he can get cheap and rebuilds it - just for the fun of it. He's going to keep an eye out for an old bus, RV, whatever. I just cannot see me going through another winter up here. If I have to ask for a transfer via work to the southern states next winter, I'll do it. I'm just so tired of being cold all the time.

Got Fang one of those laser toys the other day - she was scared of it at first. Not so Petey. He still chases the damn thing around the floor. Fang has gotten the hang of it as well now, so we (my brother and I) put them both through their paces at regular intervals.

So okay. That's it for now. Thought I better put something out here or people might think I'd fallen off the face of the earth. (Well, except for a couple forums where I continue to resist the PC mode... EG)

Not my day

Things were going pretty well at work tonight - until I was tearing down a box and ripped my fingernail halfway down the bed. From two sides. So just a little bit of nail attached to the bed now, which makes typing a real treat. Also made the last two hours of work very "interesting". Then I got home and Petey was crying and walking around very strangely - turns out he had to poop and wouldn't in the house, so he was actually in pain from holding it. Poor little guy. I didn't think dogs would do that, but...

Okay. Off to bed. Gotta remember to send my brother an e-card today too - he's 57 today. :D
