Well, I had planned on watching more figure skating tonight. Instead they've got another one of their made-up "sports" (some damn thing with snowboards, ski poles and a slalom-like downhill course). I mean, give me a break - there aren't enough real winter sports for them? They did show one couple skating and damned if the theme isn't country music, so I can see me turning the sound down/off if they ever come back on...

Fuck it. I'm going to go fix some chicken burritos and see what other stupid crap is on TV.

I don't pay a lot of attention to the Olympics any more. We used to watch them religiously but with such blurring of pro/amateurs I lost interest years ago. But I do like to watch the ice skating. A Chinese pair just finished - beautifully done, but just the fact that they didn't fall practically guaranteed them a gold medal. The commentators were saying that there are so many weird elements required now that the skaters can't help make mistakes, but this pair was flawless. So the skating's been a bit disappointing, but what the heck? Not like I've even been on a pair of skates for decades :p
