Well, my website is all fucked up again. It's there - more or less. Backgrounds are hit or miss, images are hit or miss, stories are hit or miss. So I sent a note to Mediacom (my ISP) which basically told them to fuck off. I think I'm going to go with GoDaddy - they have a good reputation, aren't that expensive, and their tech people were very quick and very nice in answering my earlier questions.

I also installed Google Chrome, but I'm not sure I'm going to stay with that. It's faster (ie, doesn't bog down finding sites) but it uses tabs exclusively, which I hate, and doesn't have the Google toolbar and in general is clumsier to navigate and use than Firefox - and when I'm opening various sites, while simultaneously searching for stuff and have a couple different programs I'm using... the time wasted having to minimize everything on Chrome just to get to the other stuff hidden behind the damn tabs means there isn't that much time saved.

It would be so nice if these technicians would quit playing with new "innovations" and just have stuff that's simple and works for the user. In this day and age you'd think they'd realize that the computer world is no longer inhabited solely by geeks (no offense to said geeks, btw ;-))

Well, Firefox 3.5.7 sucks big time, so I'm checking my old pc to see what version I had there. Found a site where I can still download older versions - going back to what I had. 3.5.7 is sooooo slow - many times I have to try 3-4 times before it can even "find" the site, or it "times out" before it can connect. Not to mention they've revamped their 'clean up' stuff with so many technical terms I don't know what I should clean out and what I need to leave. Gah! I was looking at some support forums and wasn't greatly impressed with their techies, either. Several people were reporting the same problems and they kept being told it was "their" problem (ie, their pc, their router, their something-or-other) and not Firefox - yeah, like all these people had the same crappy equipment. Starting to sound more and more like Microsoft :p

I mean, I know it's open-source and all that jazz, and it's still (or at least was) better than IE, but... Now they have version 3.6 - but as one person in the forums said, with every new version it gets worse, so yeah, I'm going to rush to install that one.
