ostarella: (Fang)

Well, Fang spent his first night "locked up" without any problems. He woke us all up this morning by climbing on the screen door - which bounced, waking the dogs in a frenzy, which of course then woke me up. I hope he doesn't get the "cause and effect" or he may become my new alarm clock... Anyway, he wasn't all that hungry for breakfast - I think mainly because I forgot the bag of kitten food out there and he ripped it apart for a midnight snack :p  But since it's sunny and pleasant, I locked the outside door open for him, and he checked out his domain for a while. He's apparently graduated from crickets and has started chasing the squirrels - I've seen him come very close a couple of times. Since he and the squirrels are about the same size, I'm kinda hoping he doesn't actually catch one. Anyway, he came back to the porch after a while and has been snoozing in the box of clothes since then. I'm amazed at how he's filled out, too. Not fat, by any means, but he's definitely getting enough to eat. :D

In other news, this weekend - since the week-long rain has stopped temporarily - will be spent loading the pickup with another bunch of brush, and then setting up and moving the post heap. Finally getting it out the yard proper and putting it out by the alley. Still convenient but not the eyesore it was in the back yard. I do like things neat - although you'd never know by the house. :p But that's eventually getting there. Oh, and tonight is haircut night for the dogs - Petey will be quite sure I hate him after that! :p

Sooo - also have to dig out my birth certificate. Monday is go to the city and get my passport card, as well as filling out more applications. Then stop and pick up some straw bales for the roses. My brother's bringing down the carrier for Fang, so we'll be getting that set up and hopefully get him to go into it. Not sure how easy that will be, since he's made his little "cave" in the clothes box, but we'll figure it out.

Soooo - off and running!

LOL. Basic error!

I'm gonna miss the Daily Fang Report when he goes to his new home.

Me, too :-( I'll just have to nag his new mama for reports - and pictures! LOL

oh my, I hope you're preparing yourself. You really will miss the presence of this cat when he goes :-( Even my cat, and I'm not as affectionate as I should be towards her, when she's at the cattery (before we go off on our hols) the house feels 'weird'.

Yeah, I've always kept a bit of distance, knowing he wasn't staying. I will miss him, as I was forced to take "time out" to just sit and do nothing but give him his snuggles, but I was out in the garden last night, while he was "locked up", and it reminded me of how nice it was to just enjoy that, without having to "mother him up". Sounds harsh, but - as a mom, you probably understand the feeling ;-)

It'll just be nice to get back into my well-honed routine of random living :D

Well a normal cat would allow you to do that, eventually ;-) All they do is sleep and want to be fed.
