ostarella: (Goals)

Okay, so have four glorious days of freedom - and tons planned to get done.

Let's see - two holiday short stories and one Quick Pick to write in my attempt to catch up on all of them; finish Chapter 56 of Covenant and start 57 (I'm determined to get at least one chapter a week done, work or no work!); some computer diddling to mess with and then start copying my tapes to DVD (scared about that - quite sure it will cause my lifeline to die even though my son says it's perfectly safe); top to bottom cleaning of the downstairs bathroom and bedroom (huge trash pile coming - being totally ruthless!); mow the lawn, trim the hedge and edge the sidewalks, plus a couple other yard-type jobs; and finish up my budget for the coming year. If I have time, I'm going to start working on the roof of one of the outbuildings - but that may wait until next week ;-)

Piece of cake!

But with four solid days - I've been known to go without sleep for several days when I get motivated - and then sleep really, *really* late on Monday (like until I have to actually walk out the door for work).

But I revamped my whole goals list, stretching it out to a full year, rather than trying to get everything done by the end of December - less chance of getting overwhelmed. I just have to get off my duff and quit "thinking" about doing stuff and get them done. :D

Now that's a plan! I'm looking forward to all of those stories! I haven't done any all nighters for a long time! My sleeping pattern was always too messed up to make it any worse.

The Year plan sounds good. Never a good idea to have too much on the plan, you can end up doing none of it because it seems too overwhelming. Enough to keep you busy, and space to add more in if you finish all the goals early.

I haven't done any all nighters for a long time!

I think (other than a couple stints where I just went a day) the last time I pulled a marathon was when my son was in grade school - I removed the wallpaper, repaired the walls and painted them (fours rooms) over a three-day period.

Then I died for a couple days. ;-)

it seems too overwhelming.

Yeah - after getting behind while my son was here, and then going on 3rd shift for those two (three?) weeks, I looked at my schedule and said, "No way in hell!" I feel much more confident about the new one. :-)
