Well, finished the draft of chapter 50, finally. The rest of today I'm starting to do a minor remodel of the kitchen. I have to tear out one cupboard, cut off the three foot overhang so it will fit in its new place. Then I have to tear apart the center island so I can just put a small table in and have more floor space that way. Then move the portable dishwasher over where the first cupboard was so I can get at the cupboard it was blocking. Argh... One of these days I have to go up to the city and get paneling for the walls - the kind that looks like white brick. And then strip the cupboards - my mom always wanted to paint the cupboards themselves white, with the wood doors stripped of paint and just varnished in the natural wood, so that's how I'm going to fix them. Eventually we have to replace the linoleum, but I think that's going to wait for next year - and I'm going to let the pro's do that. Some things I just refuse to tackle!  LOL

Sounds like you're busy! Like you, there's some things I won't tackle. I'll have a go at plenty of stuff, but for example I won't touch anything to do with electricity. Messing that up doesn't just mean a mess or a bodge job, it could kill me! Best leave it to the pros as you say.

I'll do very minor electrical, like replacing a switch or something, but anything bigger (like putting in a ceiling light) is definitely out of my scope. Same with natural gas - will not touch anything that's connected to that. I wouldn't even replace the belt on the dryer, because it meant moving the dryer (and attached gas line).

Okay you two are freaking me out... NOT NORMAL - get a bloke to do it otherwise they'll be deemed completely useless on this world... and then they will need to be stored on some island somewhere!
