I'm out in the suburbs of Philly, right next to Valley Forge Park, and we see them occasionally standing by the road. Yes, they are huge -- also stupid, since yours, like mine, appear to be cruising up the road heedless of traffic!

I've seen big herds (2-3 dozen) out in the fields around here on occasion, but never coming right into town. Of course, we live less than 5 blocks from cornfields :D

I've noticed that around here, we never seem to see them until right at the holidays -- and then they promptly vanish post-New Year's. A friend thinks it's because, if they're hiding around houses, no one can -- invite them -- for dinner.

He has a rather odd sense of humor.

Oh, we eat turkey at Christmas all right! Don't think it didn't cross my mind - but my god, we'd be eating one of those things for months LOL

It's hard to gauge the size from the pictures. Three feet tall though. Wow!

Yeah - although they're actually about the same size as domestic turkeys (although the domestic ones are a lot fatter, of course!).
