She's going to be a whole year old next month - or maybe June. Probably May, though. Okay, so I'm early, getting excited about it - but it's just so cool for me! Instead of finding her little lumpy bundle of fur out in the barn this spring, she's curled up on the chair by the dining room window, basking in the morning sunlight. :D  And she's up to a whopping three pounds now! LOL

Okay... so yeah. I'm in a good mood today - first time in a long, long time. Had my first full night of work last night - doing nothing but sitting on a very uncomfortable plastic chair watching DVDs about things I've known for ages (ie, sexual harassment, ADA, diversity in the workplace and all that crapola) and then watching some actually worthwhile DVDs about how things are actually done at WalMart. They have a set of terms that come close to IBM as far as WTF does that mean?!?! - and then it turns out it something stupifyingly simple. Tonight I have probably another two hours worth to get through - and then I can actually go out on the floor and learn how to do my job. IBM's training wasn't nearly that complex and I was doing things that were tremendously more complex! Argh!

But the people seem pretty nice - at least the older ones (ie, slighly younger than me :p). The young people just kinda stared at me like I was some kind of rodent - but I don't work with any of them so that's fine. I'll wiggle my nose at them now and then, just to keep them guessing. LOL

What I cannot believe is how easily I slipped back into the graveyard shift. I was really worried about that, because yesterday I tried to sleep some before going in and could NOT sleep for more than 45 minutes at a time. So I figured, great, I'll get fired the first night for falling asleep. But other than the normal "Gawd this is so fucking boring I can't stay awake!" I was fine. Even driving home. And now I'm still awake - planning on sleeping this afternoon, so it's like going to bed at night and getting up for work.

Yesterday I sat down and did some scheduling - when I'll sleep, when I'll be writing, when I'll be doing house and yard work - I really think having a job (and the accompanying income) is doing wonders for my ambition. I'd still rather not have to work, but worrying about the bills was draining my creativity in sooooo many ways.

Anyway, I told my brother yesterday that I was going to work there until I had $5000 in the bank and then quit. By my calculations, that should just about keep me from having to drive during the really bad winter weather. And with that amount, I'm good, bill-wise, for almost ten months. Less, really, because some of that has to go for materials to fix up the yard and house - but it's also going to let me move into the old house and cut my expenses down even more, so it evens out.

Gawd - am I wound up this morning or what!!!!! I work tonight and then not again until Friday night - so I have a feeling the neighbors are going to wonder what the hell is going on with the yard work the next few days. LMAO

oh thought you were a bit quiet... good for you, and glad the job will be fine, and help with that creativity. Which reminds me, am I behind on Bunnies?

Oh and Fang... how long have you had her? I can't believe that's nearly a year too? Doesn't time fly.

I'm going to need to do some scheduling... going to use this week as a bit of buffer, see how things fit around Kieran off at preschool every day, and work in exercise, housework (anything on my to-do list house/life related) and WRA :D

We found her mid-July of last year - she moved in I believe late August, maybe September. And the dogs haven't been the same since! LOL

lol! Yeah - but I hope the dogs are 'cool' in a good way with the cat. I bet she bosses them around... this dog v cat hate thing is myth, I'm sure ;-)

Yeah, mostly Petey's gotten used to being her toy - Muffy has her days when Fang knows to stay clear, but then turn around and they're snuggled up together, sound asleep. ;-)

Oh and yeah, I think just having a reason to get out of the house and not having to worry about money - it's a big relief. Let's the brain work on more important things LOL

Only thing I really don't like is having an hour for lunch. Where I used to work, we worked a straight 8 hours with just 3-15 minute breaks. Now I'm stuck away from my computer for an extra hour - but they have a library for the employees! So I can take my notebook and write in there during that time, so maybe it won't be so bad. ;-)

Or it's a good place to get an hour of reading in. That's when I used to read most was in my lunch hour... eons ago.
