What a week, month, life...

ostarellaI've been waiting and waiting to get called back to work for the end of quarter - and, as usual, they call a week later than I really needed them to. :-( If I hadn't had to pay in to the tax man I'd have been fine, but...lots of oatmeal consumed until that next paycheck comes. Blah... And then, I have to work second shift next week before going back to third - the week my son is home. So double :-( !! I think I'm going to make a concentrated effort to find a "real job" - for a few months anyway, to build up my reserve again. Sucks to be down to the last nickel.
Have gotten some work done on my catch-up writing at least. I finished another overdue holiday story, and set up the framework for six others (holidays and QPs), plus I actually got a good start back on Covenant. I don't know why that's such a hassle to get through now. But I think, with the short stuff, I'm getting back the enthusiasm. Hopefully I'll be able to work on that tonight yet - maybe even finish the chapter!
Watching the weather - again! Second time this week we've had tornado watches out around the area. They can start out a hundred miles from here, and the next thing you know, we're in the middle of it. But at least I got a load of washing out and "almost" dried on the line today. Tomorrow is cleaning day - I used to clean houses part-time - four hours to clean a four-story house from top to bottom (including hand-washing the floors) so I figure I'll have this one spotless by the time I go to bed. Just in time for my son's arrival early Saturday morning. Hurray for that! :D

Your weather is scary. Seems you either have snow up to the eaves, or tornadoes, or who knows what else!

Date: 2008-06-06 12:26 pm (UTC)Alas, I had to shut down my pc last night - too much high wind and storms. :-( But hopefully (since I had the strangest dream about it during the night) I'll be able to get it done between cleaning today.
It's been a very scary spring - we've had so many deaths across the Midwest from tornados; one town was basically wiped out. Every time we get a bad storm I start listening for that train going overhead. :-(
