Well, they did it to me again! Now they want me to come in to work today from 4 until midnight, because it's going to be sooooo busy getting all the orders out they can before the deadline. Well, sorry, folks, but I looked at what's on the floor and 80% has a ship date of mid-April, and they never push the ship date when it's that far out. 4-5 days maybe, not two weeks. (sigh) Nothing like pushing my whole day ahead six hours - ever try forcing yourself to go to sleep six hours before you normally would? Yuck. So I'm hoping I'll get a call this afternoon saying, Oh, hey, looks like we won't need you after all.

Damn.

Anyway, on a brighter note - a couple of neat links from Fiction Factor newsletter:

What’s In A Name?

A little advice on choosing names for your characters and how important it can be...

A Sprinkle of Sparkle

Something JFM might find interesting, as it involves a new way of editing - at least, new to me ;-)  But it's interesting in how the author suggests deciding what's good and what can be tossed in your story.

Went to work, no busier than usual, snow and rain covering the roads with slush, so when I found out the lines were going to slow down to next to nothing, and observed the "regulars" standing around talking and playing on the internet, told my boss I was going home. Period. So worked a total of four and half hours, spent a total of almost two hours on the road - but now I'm home, with my computer, with a full night of wakefulness and in a dark mood - perfect for writing the next scenes LOL
