Original story plot bunny - maybe

I've been wanting to write an original story for a long time - used to do it years ago. There's a contest with a deadline of January 2008, grand prize is a $1500 advance toward publication and all the hoopla that goes with "being a professional". And the length requirements aren't outrageous. So I've had that at the back of my mind for a while now. Today, out of the blue, I came up with a line that I *think* will define the whole story:  "The moment I first saw him, I knew I wanted to kill him."

How's that for a plot line? <G>

And what does it say about my personality that I'm really excited about it?  heh heh heh...

Oh, yeah - "contests" where suddenly you have to pay a fee, or you have to sign with a particular editor first - yeah, there's a lot of them. But this one is through a university, and lists the previous contest winners and their books, so I was able to check on them. ;-) And who knows - if I can't make the deadline without screwing up the story, I may just see about getting it published anyway.
