I think that's cool (she said, patting herself on the back :D). Seriously, in the movie they really didn't play up the "rough time" Kyle had as much as I think they could have/should have. But then again, maybe I'm too sadistic myself LOL
on another note...I was thinking I must give this film to my dad to watch. He'll love the pickups in it. He has a limey/kermit the frog green one, just like what Kyle/Face is driving. Similar anyway. Either the F100 of F150 (I can't remember).
You get to see the cab in the film a bit, with the bench seat etc. and I was thinking OMG it's just like my dads!
AH! You thought that, too! He's enjoying it so much because he's not *just* getting at these guys - he's getting something back for the horrible things done to him.
Although his mind is stable enough to realise not to kill them ;O) even though they want to harm him. I think he's just enjoying scaring the shit out of them...his own kinda torture back.
The fact that he doesn't kill makes him v. close to Face, so your story is very believable.
Great minds think alike, right? :D
I'm not quite sure my mind is as great as yours, but I'm going to take that as a compliment lol!

I was going over a couple spots (again), and I'm beginning to wonder about Kyle a bit. I don't think he intended to kill any of them - but I don't know if he would've cared if it happened. He threw Bubba off the bridge, he rigged the deputy's car so it would explode when he turned the key in the ignition, and he threw those Molotov cocktails directly into the boats - not exactly "taking care". ;-) Then again, considering some of the stuff the guys did on the show, it's only "television" that really prevented anyone from getting killed. So I may have to think about that "don't kill anyone" idea a bit - for all parties. I'm so evil...
I've been thinking about this some more too, since this comment.
He is SF so if he'd wanted them dead, he could have easily done it. And he does say to Jenny he'll keep them busy until Mr Bellows returns, on the first incident, after I like to think he joked that he could take a gun and shoot them all. lol! He was so dry ;o)
On the second incident, when his life was at stake, I still think he knew better than to kill them. Again he would have done it otherwise, especially with the dynamite. He hit those boats spot on with the bottles, the dynamite would have blown them to bits. But he didn't. He just scared the shit out of them ;O)
Also, the *cocktails* probably did what they would do in reality, just start a fire. It spread because of the liquid in it, nothing more. So as long as they got out the boat they wouldn't burn with it ;o)
I think if he really had wanted to kill them, he would have done it in a flash. To show that Kyle did still have some humanity left in him, considering what he's been through, was what the film was about a little ;O)
And that's the same with the team... they'd rather see their bad guys / enemies behind bars not dead. They just like to scare them a tiny bit first ;O)
I agree he wouldn't deliberately kill them. But, after the kidnapping, when he knew they were playing for keeps, I think if he'd had the dynamite at the beginning, he'd have used that on the boats. He only used the cocktails because that's what he had available. Molotovs first explode in a big fireball and *then* start the fire, so they're not exactly benign. ;-) And, as he showed with Deputy Dave, he was definitely not averse to causing injury had they not thrown away their guns. Again, I agree he wouldn't deliberately kill them - if that had been his intention, they would have been dead. At the same time, if, during the course of the 'battle', one or more of them ended up dead, I think his feeling would be, they asked for it.
I mean, realistically, he's not exactly the most stable person, he'd just been kidnapped at gunpoint, locked up with complementary flashbacks, been physically attacked, forced to jump out of a 7-story window into the water (does that sound familiar? LOL), and then been shot at by a gang of trigger-happy yahoos whose intentions are very clear - I think, under those circumstances, "scaring them" was at the bottom of his priority list. I know it would be for me. ;-)
