Okay - I can understand why they would want to drag Dimitri along with them after the robbery - catching a Russian advisor would be a real coup politically, not to mention the Intel he could have. BUT - how did they come across him? It's not like he would just be wandering around - even if they actually had advisors in Vietnam, Russia would definitely not want either the US or China to know about it. So...any suggestions?

Date: 2008-01-28 07:25 pm (UTC)Now that's a thought. Even if, as Quyet said, they couldn't get word to the north in time, they would still have the knowledge that it was supposed to happen. And when Dimitri finds out the bank had actually been robbed, he goes after them...yeah, because it's going to take 3-4 days to get to the pickup point in Laos, and even more to get to the DMZ, since that's where they actually came out...so Dimitri would have plenty of time to find them, get captured, etc etc
