Okay, maybe not that bad, but...

I got home from work this morning and I swear to God there wasn't one joint or muscle that wasn't screaming at me. My hip (which had felt almost normal yesterday) had stiffened up again; my knuckles were swollen and stiff and sore; my lower back felt like it was coiling worse than a snake; my knees were like rusty hinges; my left ankle would give out every few steps; and my right foot was swollen like a water balloon.

And we'd had an impossibly easy night at work!

Seriously, I don't understand why I'm having all these problems. It's not like I was totally inactive while unemployed. Yeah, all of these things bother me at various times - but not all at once! By the time I got the animals fed and had my first cup of coffee, I was done. I went to bed and slept for almost six hours, and now I'm ready to lay down again - I can get another 3 hours in before I have to get ready for work.

I'm just so tired of all these aches and pains - I can't do anything at the level I should be able to. And it's frustrating because at work, I don't want anyone thinking I'm a slacker; at home, there's just so much that is time sensitive as far as the gardens and lawn...

Argh...

Oh, I always forget about the whole insurance thing, sorry. We're so spoiled in comparison. Is that why you guys can apparently buy much stronger painkillers over the counter than we can, I wonder.

I'd love to know what's going on with this damn body of mine

I personally think humans haven't finished evolving into bipeds yet, so eventually our bodies rebel at all this walking around upright. :D

Frankly, I have many times wondered if my mother being 44 when she had me has anything to do with it - eyesight that went bad very young, the whole heart thing, knee problems started in junior high school with the other joints gradually getting bad in my twenties... They used to say that having children when you were older could cause mental retardation, but maybe it could also cause some physical problems as well. I don't know, I'm probably way off in left field, but at least it's a reason. I like to know reasons for things. :p

Maybe. There's a correlation with higher risk of Downs syndrome and older mothers, but I suppose there could be other things as well, all down to genes. Does the DNA in the eggs start to break down by then after waiting around for so many years.
