Stupid cable company (again)

So nothing yet from the Better Business Bureau on my complaint - but did get a statement from Mediacom (yes - MEDIACOM - remember that name and stay far away from it!) which was mailed on the 28th - yeah, the day they disconnected us WITHOUT NOTICE. It says I now owe them over $500 for the cable box I failed to return, and reminding me that I'm supposed to give them 7 days notice before disconnecting so they can arrange to pick it up.
What we have here is a failure to communicate... or total lack of brains on the part of MEDIACOM.

Date: 2010-05-04 12:15 am (UTC)I did a little research for you, since you can't do it yourself. Try this. www.mactamn.org This agency regulates the cable companies in your state. They might tell you that you have to go to the local franchising authority to file a complaint.
If all fails, you can always go the FCC. www.fcc.gov
Good luck!
