Setbacks and irritants...

Well, it was raining most of yesterday. When it stopped for a while, late afternoon, I took Fang's dinner out for him. Did the round-robin bit for a while and then it started to rain again. I took his food dishes into the tool house (where he lives for now) and then... well, I was getting soaked and didn't want to be, he was getting soaked and didn't want to be, I got a little impatient and picked him up when I really shouldn't have - and will probably bear the scars for the rest of my natural life. So some fence-mending to do today - but "She Who Feeds Shall Always Be Forgiven" - the Law in Stray Animal Land.

The irritant was a series of posts on an A-Team board - hopefully being worked out by the Admins over there. Not saying people have to like certain characters or the actors who play them, but you don't have to insult those who do by insulting the character/actor. Vast difference between that and the "friendly rivalry" that has existed ever since I can remember. Shows not only a definite immaturity but an even bigger dose of stupidity.

Basically, yesterday was a series of misadventures and wasted time - did not get as much cleaning done as I had hoped, did not get as much writing done as I had hoped (well, got a lot of writing done, but most of it went the way of the delete button), and I spent a great deal of time wishing fervently that I had my RV/bus/camper/vehicle and was on the road to anywhere other than where I was.

Hopefully today will be better...

I've dealt with it, although lol! I didn't realise the other mods were in discussion... (really should remember to read mod posts first! lol!) but I've deleted the post.

It's fun to have a banter... but at the end of the day, I like the A-Team so I like all four characters - Face is my favourite for obvious reasons, but it doesn't mean I'd "diss" Murdock, only in a friendly way with friends who know I'm playing. Bit of a lively poster that one... hopefully they'll get bored and bugger off.

Lively isn't exactly the word I'd use - trouble-maker, perhaps - one doesn't make all those comments on several threads due to a slighty out-of-kilter sense of fun. :p

Frankly, I'd ban her ass - but then I have a very low tolerance level for that kinda crap, knowing where it can lead to ;-)

I was tempted to delete her! lol! I'll let the other mods decide. But yeah... she's not likely to remain friendly, comments were definitely deliberate.

Maybe we'll have a vote. I'd vote for deletion just on the grounds of not using capital letters and punctuation never mind anything else!

Let's hope that arse on the forum gets bored soon. People like that usually have a short attention span.

To be fair, she did post a couple things that didn't diss the other guy - if the ones that did get snarky were deleted, and she was monitored until she'd proved she could behave herself, I'd have no problem with that.

Okay, maybe a general apology for bad behavior would be nice, too :D

I'm starting to wonder if posts over there shouldn't be moderated, in general. Don't know how it works on those boards, but with all the spamming, and then this - maybe it's time to put some brakes on "open" postings for a while. ??

It's a thought. It wouldn't exactly be an arduous task to mode someone's posts until it's clear they aren't a spammer or a nutter.

Just popped over for a look - yeah, she's odd. Clearly a Murdockian Fundamentalist. True Murdockians are a peaceful (except when provoked) people, a little zany, a tiny bit dark at the edges. The Church of Murdocka does not condone such activity, and this so called Murdockian and A Team fan has no understanding of our way of life.

I went through all the options on the admin and mod panels trying to find a way to put her posts on 'moderate', and couldn't find any. I agree it's something we need.

I suspect that as soon as she can't do whatever she likes she'll either run or turn nasty, and then it's the Ban Hammer.

I can't figure out why anyone would join a board and immediately start posting comments like some of those unless they intended to cause trouble. Nobody's that stupid. Hopefully she'll be gone soon - I certainly have no interest in hearing what else she might have to say. :p

Sadly, there are boards out there where that kind of nonsense is normal, and she hasn't figured out ours isn't one of them.
