This and that...

Well, the garage finally called about my truck - took two days for them to come and pick it up, four days just to get an estimate - but it's only $200 more than I anticipated (I guess that's good, 'cause there was more work than I had realized), and I should have it back tomorrow or Thursday. (Small towns are a bit more relaxed about things ike that, I guess
) Which means - loading and hauling brush non-stop for a while. But then I can just load it directly into the truck as I cut it - which is sooo nice. And none too soon, as, after a few nice summer days we've moved back into autumn mode. I think this year we broke a record for the fewest number of 90 degree days. But it means we'll probably have an early winter so much much yardwork to complete in a bit of a rush...
Speaking of cold weather - FANG!!!
My sweetie. (I can say that freely now, because he won't completely disappear out of my life
) Yesterday he decided to explore my shoulders. Today he was reaching up and patting my chin and neck, and trying to pull my hat off. He goes over and eats a bit, then trots back to me (or rather, my lap) where he demands his petting time, then back down for some more nibbles, then back on the lap... kind of a round-robin. I purred back at him today and OMG - he practically stuck his head in my mouth trying to figure out where that noise came from!
Found the neatest video online today that shows me how to do a few woodworking things that I wasn't sure about - but that will add value to the music boxes (craftsmanship-wise). Have a bunch of gardening stuff to move out of the toolhouse so I can get the shop set up in there again, like my dad had it. Getting more and more excited about working with wood again. I worked for an office furniture manufacturer for a couple years - doing finish sanding of the wood and wood laminate tops. Loved that job - hated the people I worked for, but loved the job.
I wish I was as happy cooking as I am sawing/hammering/sanding/finishing - but I guess it's stick to basic recipes until I find some idiot nice man who'll do the cooking for me. That's my only prerequisite for a man - other than being, well... you know...
Can you tell all my stressors are starting to get worked out? I'm jabbering again...
