I had almost half of Chapter 46 written, and scrapped the whole damn thing :-(  It was just out and out BORING. So then I started with part of what I'd written, re-did it, and then it seemed to like me better. ;-)

In the meantime, we had rain, snow, sleet and wind last night. Went out to check around the yard and found one of our trees blown down - took it right off at the ground. It's now laying across the fence (luckily it fell into the yard and not out into the street. So, if it quits raining in the next couple of days, I'll have to go out with my chain saw and saw it up. The only problem is that nearer the base, it's a little over 2 feet thick, which is way too big for the chain saws I have. So next weekend, my brother and I will have to get my dad's two-man saw out and hand saw the rest of it. And then, of course, I (and I mean "I") get to chop it up, clean it up and fix the fence.

Just call me Paul Bunyan...

I'm awed by the fact you own a chainsaw! :D I'm such a city girl I'd flail around pretty helplessly if I found one of the tree in my garden was down.

At least you'll have plenty of firewood for next winter. (Or this winter, given that it seems to have settled in for the damn year. It's still bloody freezing in the mornings here.

So am I!!! Actually she implied she owns more than one!!!! lol! Those sort of things I'd call out my dad! (And now I'm married, hubby I suppose...don't want him feeling inferior!) Not that I have a garden big enough to warrant trees! Big trees! :o(

When I was a kid we had a huge back garden, and did have huge trees there. But nothing like it now. Hard to find too...

My garden does have two nice big trees, though it's not an especially huge garden. I live in a Victorian terrace. Three storey + loft town houses. Weirdly, one side of the street has decent sized front gardens and the other side just has those sort of token ones where you can fit in one flower bed, and the railings were taken away during the war to make into Spitfires and never replaced.

My brother just shakes his head at me - I walk around in jeans that I probably bought 10 years ago, but I'll pinch pennies to buy some bit of equipment for the yard :D
