I'm thinking the only time we actually saw the orphanage was in Beneath the Surface - but I am correct in thinking that it was the actual orphanage versus just the place they were holding the reunion? Because the more I think about it, the more it seemed pretty "upscale" for an orphanage - more along the lines of a convent or monastery (based on a huge convent not far from me). Not all that major a question, I'm just trying to picture the place Face would've grown up. (It could influence things in the story a bit, admittedly.)

I think you could be right. For one thing having a bit party on the premises would be a bit disruptive for the current orphans that live there. (Especially once Fulbright and his goons start rushing around with guns!) I sense a strongly worded letters from the bishop in the offing...

Those gardens are very posh too.

And later Murdock has a go at whatsherface for ticketing the limo outside "a place of worship".

Perhaps it is a convent and the orphanage is maybe some place on the same property, but it's not that same building we saw.

A "big" party even.

Yeah, the more I think about it - there weren't any signs of kids around, no drawings or toys or anything, either, and even if it were picked up for the party, you would think there would be something. And just the fact that Fulbright came in all gung-ho - if it were actually the orphanage "area", I don't think even he would take a chance on the kids getting hurt. He'd waited until Face was leaving.

But I agree, the orphanage could be on the same property, just a different area. The convent here sits on I don't know how many acres, and has a complete rest home with it's own "property" included.

Okay. I can add a little "background" info to the story now and feel more confident about it ;-)

Of course Hannibal - the Shooting Nun - is pretty gung-ho too!

I think you two have sussed this out between you. I don't think I could have *added* much. All sounds fair enough to me though.

I just hope Hannibal shaved well that morning. I can see her thinking "This is the tallest, ugliest nun I've ever met."

Well, I suppose Hannibal has to start that habit sometime.

I'll shut up now, before I start picturing this.

Just for the record - no nun. no nun. no nun... :D
