The hell with it...
I've probably managed to get myself banned from Digital Spy. No big loss at this point, considering the place has been so thoroughly contaminated by one poster's vindictiveness. But I finally decided to call a spade a spade. Normally I try to ignore her, but when enough bricks hit you in the head, it's kinda hard to do.
But this whole forum rules thing bugs the hell out of me. Has for some time. How do you respond "politely" and "respectfully" to other members who choose not to post "politely" or "respectfully"? It's like fighting with both hands tied behind your back. I like the way ani handles it over DTD - if you let her know when someone pulls that shit, she comes down on them like a ton of bricks. The mods over at DS take forever to respond, if at all (in this case, *not* at all). So I figure if they don't care what she posts, I have the same rights.
The really sad part about this whole thing - well, actually, there are two. First, that friends and family of Dirk's have to see that kind of crap on the web, and second, that there are people out there ignorant of her whole pathetic issue who will believe what she says.

He figured they'd censor some of the chat,because..well..that's what the network people do.
But the stalker story HE was talking about, you know with the slashed tires and bodyguards, I'd actually heard him talk about before, on his second cruise during a chat session.
I guess what can you do but sort of laugh it off when you're talking about it on national TV, but I'm sure at the time it was very unerving to go through.

Okay, one could argue, they are celebrity, it's what they wanted, and so the fans are part of the package... but we're all human. They NEED some privacy. What gives us a right to interfere with that?
Its like I saw on a Robbie Williams documentary thing once, he was followed to his AA session. Okay, he has/had a problem and was dealing with it. What give the Paps a right to follow him to this? Not only were they invading his privacy about something rather serious, that he wants to keep private. But there would be other people (ordinary members of the public with an alcohol problem) requiring the same level of privacy too. They were totally infringing all of this - just for a stupid story/picture.
I rarely read the papers or magazines (don't have the time with two kids) but I also don't want to feel like I'm feeding the need for reporters to do this to a "celebrity".

I guess twenty years ago she would just be writing him obscene letters and turning up on his property. We'd have been none the wiser. Now we have teh interweb for the crazies to share their lunacy with us. Joy. I'm so happy to read defamatory comments and lies from someone who needs professional help and clearly isn't getting it. Maybe we should club together and find her a good shrink.

Oh, sorry - must be reading like she does - inserting mine own little world...
