Gawd...

Well, went through a nearly sleepless night. Fang hurt himself Friday (I think when he jumped from my arm and landed wrong) and yesterday he was very very shaky on his feet, and wasn't at all active like he usually is. So I fixed a box in the tool house, with some straw covered with my sweatshirt, put his food and water right there by it, and carried him in. He sniffed the sweatshirt and started purring before going inside and snuggling down. But I was worried sick all night and today I delayed going out to check on him because I was quite sure I'd find his little body all cold and stiff. (Yeah, well, that's what I do when I worry...)

Anyway, he's alive and somewhat better than yesterday. He's walking normally, but still not able to jump down from my lap without falling (I only let him try that once!) but I stood there while he ate and drank, and we sat out in the garden, both of us dozing in the warmth. Then I took him back to his "nest" and he snuggled back down again. I see now he's out in another garden, full sun, washing - which he didn't even try to do yesterday. So I think he's on the mend, although I think he lost some weight. He seemed awfully fragile.

Okay, so yeah. This is what I do with pets and animals in general - get paranoid and make mountains out of molehills...

Oh no. :( Poor Fang, I hope he gets better soon. You're so like me, when Mum had the family of kits in her shed I was forever calling her and panicking over them. I generally prefer animals to people, to be honest. They're so awesome. :)

Well, that's just another reason I didn't want to keep him - I worry the same way when one of the dogs isn't up to par and it wears me out. And if I try not to worry, then I feel guilty for being an uncaring lout. :-(

But yeah, I've always gotten along much better with animals and children than adults (like, what a surprise! LOL)

I'm sure Moggy-chops will be fine. And you're just fretting. They are designed to land on their feet, whatever. (All to do with their tail). Apparently Cliff Richard proved it (an interview I once heard :-P)

This is the only cat related icon I have. The Cat :-P But he doesn't have a tail.

Oh, I know - like I said, mountains out of molehills.

And now I've checked the weather - 39 F tonight - so now I can worry about that! :p

He'll be okay - like my dad says, that's why they were born with fur ;-)

Yeah - I went out and rearranged the sweatshirt so it made a little nest for him too - he can just snuggle into a circle of fabric :D

I wanna see a picture of that. :D

I'll see if he'll hold still long enough ;-)

Aw, poor little Fang. Hope he's just twisted or sprained something and it will soon heal.

I know cats are supposed to land on their feet every time, and at least some of that must be innate, but I wonder if it takes some practive for a cat to get that right, so a kitten still needs to perfect it.

It could be worse, he could have ended up like this little chap.

Aw that poor little thing! Yeah, it wasn't that bad, thank God. I think he just misjudged the distance a bit - but he's sure milking it ;-) Little bugger...
