Counting down...

Well, three more days and then I'm free! hahahaha  Actually, 2-1/2 - IBM is taking their employees (not contractors :-( ) to the fair on Friday night so we get off at 6:30.

My boss asked me if I'd be willing to work "core" on second shift (meaning more or less permanently). Of course, he needed an answer "now" and I told him I would. Figured it would make life a whole lot easier if I worked through the end of the year, financially anyway. But then he came back later and I got hoisted by my own petard - I'm the only one they've got that can handle the line alone and keep up with it (unless, like tonight, they start running two lines for the last three hours - good grief...). So because they already have two positions on second and would have no one on third, no core job. Don't know if I'm relieved or upset about that. Probably more relieved - I would've been up on murder charges if I'd had to deal with the other shipping guy for much longer. The man has no concept of teamwork - he does his thing and the hell with the rest of the operation. Argh...

So I've got three pieces to read through today on [profile] ateambunnies and then have to see if I can get the tiller running (have new gardens to plow out) and Covenant is going to kinda simmer until I'm through working - although I did come up with a solution to my current dilemma as I got into bed last night. A bit of an experiment...you know how those go...

btw - anyone else having trouble getting on DBC? Keeps timing out for me... :-(

Sheesh, talk about messing you around at work there. Here's hoping it's for the best anyway.

Keep simmering there!

Yeah, I was really of two minds about it - then I was talking to my IBM third shift boss (oy, the number of people I report to is ridiculous!) and she thought I should talk to my Manpower boss and see if I could work 2nd until 3rd needed me and then switch to 3rd. So I might email him about that - or at least let him know I'm open to something along those lines. A little more cushion dollar-wise is never a bad thing ;-)

The choice between more time and more money and both are soooo tempting. But having only 2 1/2 days to go sounds really good! Enjoy your freedom ;-)

DBC obviously wasn't accessible for a while, I had the same problems, but it's working now.

Yeah, it's hard. But then I had another fight with the other guy in shipping (the kind that is *always* right, *always* interrupts and *never* listens) so I'm glad I've at least got a break from him.

Yeah, DBC came back up after a while - maybe Warrior was doing some more "tinkering" ;-)

haven't tried DBC so wouldn't know ;o)

Hey, sounds like really you didn't need the job ;o) These things happen for a reason.

Yeah, my budget's pretty well sorted out now - barring any unforeseen expenses (and I intend to ignore them LOL). It's definitely a good feeling to be able to say, "Oh, okay - no problem." and mean it. :D

hey - that's alright then :D
