Well, running merrily along with the next chapter, having finally "found the groove" again - decided to do a quick check of RL time line versus mine and.....

I have the guys trying to cross into Quang Tri Province on February 10, 1971. On February 8, 1971, Phase II of Operation Lam Son 719 began - one of the most ambitious attempts to cut the Ho Chi Minh Trail in Laos - and one of the biggest disasters.

Well, at least it makes it interesting...

Definitely. ;-) It actually helps, because I couldn't figure out how they should "make their entrance" at Quang Tri, but this opens up a lot of possibilities. There was a lot of bombing going on at that point, too, so I know one Hannibal line I *have* to fit in someplace is "Well, I think we found the war."
