I'm determined now to do it almost always through the eyes of another character. That characterizes them too, as well as the person they're looking at.

It's kind of a take-off on the "What if" thing - instead of "How do I see this character?" it's "How would X see Y?". Maybe we should introduce that as an exercise over on lousyfic. ;-)
