I agree the world has gone very politically correct. Everyone's worried about sueing each other. Like, I couldn't believe it, that they're not allowed to put a plaster on a child at school. WTF? And there was an incident at preschool where a child got a raisin stuck up its nose, so they had to call the parents to come get it out... that they couldn't touch it. How crazy is that? What if it took an hour to get the parent to the preschool? That's an hour that child is in distress, just because of some stupid health and safety rule?
There are some good movies out there though - watched Shutter Island at the weekend - bloody brilliant! As for TV, I don't watch any ;-) But I think the BBC sometimes puts out some good shows. Spooks is the rave at the moment... hubby is watching that. I'd like to watch it (for Richard Armitage if for nothing else) but I need to be writing.
The reason I found out about the raisin was because Kieran had a splinter... but he hadn't showed anyone and I told them, if it happens again to make sure they take it out. However, they actually hadn't realised he'd got the splinter.
LOL - my son got a piece of corn stuck up his nose in preschool! I had to leave work, go and get him and take him to the ER, as he'd shoved it so far up nobody could reach it. Eww. And of course, the corn started swelling with moisture... what a mess. When I asked him why he did it, he just shrugged. Seemed like the thing to do at the time, I guess. :D
But most movies nowadays just don't excite me that much. The special effects - frankly, most movies that use them it's sooo obvious. And others, that should make you think, instead just preach. Bleah!
