These guys are so full of mixed messages. Gawd. In the shift meetings each day, they're full of "Oh thank you all so much for yada yada yada - I knew you could do it!" Then they turn around and bitch at people one on one. But that's all part of their cheerleading management style - like no one sees through it. Well, okay, some of the newer people (first or second jobs) don't, but people like me... Just like they tell you not to bring pallets out on the floor - until they get a huge shipment and then it's "Get the freight done, no matter what!"

I think my initial reservations about the climate there are being proven out, frankly. The whole Walmart "cult" thing - a sham "We're a great place to work" while the managers are under pressure to produce which they take out on the people doing the actual work. I've seen that style many times, but with the whole Holy Sam Walton thing, it's that much harder to swallow. (They actually have a customer service pledge on the wall in the breakroom that ends with "So help me Sam Walton"!!!)

Pardon me while I pull my head out of the toilet...
