I HAS JOB!!!!!

Kinda sorta. Part-time overnight stocker at WalMart. But hey - it's income. They called me a little while ago, and I start tomorrow afternoon, 4 hours, then 8 hours probably Sunday and for however long it takes to get trained in (I guess they've got some fancy-schmancy labeling system so they can keep track of inventory). And then I'll be going to the night shift, 2-4 days per week.

So yeah. Not exactly a job one looks forward to their whole life, but... At least this will pay the bills and allow me time for writing and home projects. And considering what my bank balance looks like - cobwebs - I'll take it, gladly.

Ironic, though. I started my very first job ever 40 years ago - in a grocery store. Funny how life turns out.

Yay! Good for you, hon!

I know the kind of relief it is to have income.

Congrats on the job!!! I know what a burden financial stress can be on a person.

I worked at Wal-mart five years. I’m sure they’ve only improved the labeling system since 2001, so don’t worry about it. It’s easy. You scan the barcode on the shelf or product and the screen pops up everything anyone would ever know about the product.

Word of caution: Wear comfortable shoes, those hard floors are a killer on your feet the first few weeks.

Yay! Hey, mentally undemanding work is great for writers. You can be thinking about writing the whole time. :D

Good for you! Hey, just look at it as money and yeah, allowing/paying for you to write... until the writing pays :D
