Let me know if you have any problems - there are a few minor bugs to work out, but otherwise seems to be working fine. Over time will be adjusting the font size to meet the new html standards (and so people don't have to muck about with adjusting it).

Just glad it's finally up and running again - fingers crossed it stays that way. (Note - I have mine own little domain name, too! LOL)

Well, my website is all fucked up again. It's there - more or less. Backgrounds are hit or miss, images are hit or miss, stories are hit or miss. So I sent a note to Mediacom (my ISP) which basically told them to fuck off. I think I'm going to go with GoDaddy - they have a good reputation, aren't that expensive, and their tech people were very quick and very nice in answering my earlier questions.

I also installed Google Chrome, but I'm not sure I'm going to stay with that. It's faster (ie, doesn't bog down finding sites) but it uses tabs exclusively, which I hate, and doesn't have the Google toolbar and in general is clumsier to navigate and use than Firefox - and when I'm opening various sites, while simultaneously searching for stuff and have a couple different programs I'm using... the time wasted having to minimize everything on Chrome just to get to the other stuff hidden behind the damn tabs means there isn't that much time saved.

It would be so nice if these technicians would quit playing with new "innovations" and just have stuff that's simple and works for the user. In this day and age you'd think they'd realize that the computer world is no longer inhabited solely by geeks (no offense to said geeks, btw ;-))

My site's back up and running! How the hell it happened, I don't know - although it came after asking the techies how to put a re-direct on the "Construction" page for when I found a new web host. How coincidental was that? LOL

Well, that's one less thing to worry about now. Fang, I think, is coming out of heat - she's not quite so "amorous" and she was actually playing a little bit today instead of just wandering around posturing. (Although she still seems to have an inordinate affection for my new pc :p).

And have four jobs to apply for - 2 in warehousing and 2 others - census taking and inventory taking. Not glamor jobs but what the heck?

Only real bad thing is the weather - rain/sleet mix all day today, possibly turning to snow tonight or tomorrow. But I can live with that, since I don't have to go out in it. Not much choice, at any rate.

Fang is a girl.

I know this because she went into heat this morning. So now have to make an appointment with the vet and get that little problem taken care of. At least she isn't yowling - yet, anyway. So far more a meow/purr combination, along with the other typical behaviors. At least there's no more waiting to see if "his" little nubbins show up LOL

Still no word on my website problems - well, I've gotten a couple emails from their "support" people (and I use that term loosely) basically telling me to do the same things I've been doing to correct it - and it's still nowhere to be found. Gawd. So looking at GoDaddy and warped.com to see about moving it there. Main concern is finding a place where I don't have to be a computer genius to get it up and maintained.  As long as all I have to do is code the html and upload it, I'm happy. :D

Weather-wise, the near 40 degree temps that were forecast never materialized - low 30s, upper 20s for the coming week or so. And last night we got an ice storm - law enforcement for the area was "strongly recommending" no travel on secondary roads and main highways weren't much better. Intermittent rain/sleet today - walked down to the store a while ago and got soaked, plus came close to some near disastrous tumbles. But now I can cocoon for a few more days :D

My writing has taken a beating with all the tech problems - but I'm getting my psyche settled now so hopefully will be getting productive. I have been doing some holiday pieces and quick picks - about all my attention span will handle at the moment - but at least it's something.

Ah well. Tomorrow's another day...
