Snow...

Well, first real winter storm is supposed to hit here starting Saturday afternoon into Saturday night. 5-8 inches of snow expected. I'm supposed to work tomorrow night but unless the storm moves to miss us (which is still a hopeful possibility) I ain't budging.

Guess it was too much to hope we wouldn't get anything until closer to Xmas...

Got up this morning to a good half-inch of snow - predicting 4-8 inches by tomorrow morning, possibly 12.

Now, don't get me wrong - we're used to seeing the daffodils and even tulips peaking out of the snow - just not this much snow. I also don't like that it happened on a day when I have to go to work - which, if it plays out as expected, means I won't be going in. Not that that bothers me so much, except it's the night before inventory and it's going to make management extremely pissed.

So I'm keeping my fingers crossed that the storm runs its course quicker than predicted and that the snow isn't as heavy as predicted and that the temps don't get as low as predicted so I can get to work and not get written up.

sigh...

Well, Xmas is turning out to be the same crap as usual. Wanted to get all the shopping done Sunday so if anything needed to be ordered we could do that without hassle, but no - nobody felt like making out their lists yet, let alone shopping. So supposedly going to do that Tuesday and hope we can find stuff (the City tends to have the same items in every store and not a whole lot of variety at all). Then I went out to dig out the truck since I'm supposed to take it in today to get the brakes fixed and guess what? Someone nabbed the radio out of it. Plus it wouldn't start which means getting it towed to the garage. And we're due for yet more fucking snow today and tomorrow...

Next year I'm hitching to Texas and not even getting a tree. Swear to god...

Okay - since when do we get snow when the leaves are still on the trees and shrubs? When you live in Minnesota...
